About Our Ride-on Mower Courses
Using a ride-on mower can be very simple, with little risk involved - providing you know how to use and maintain it. But accidents can happen, so this training course can help to ensure everything runs smoothly.
The Hush Farms Ride-on Mower training course aims to teach you how to use this equipment safely and efficiently.
Our courses are HSE approved – NPTC and LANTRA accredited – and will teach you the safe use of Ride-On Mowers. We do our best to be flexible around your needs, so you can come to one of our sites in Devon or Wales for the training, or we’ll come to you. Plus, we’ll fit the course around your schedule, whether that’s working around feeding time, or the kids’ school holidays. Just let us know what suits you.

It's a legal requirement for employers to provide operator training for their employees who use ride on mowers.
Course Information – Ride-on Mowers
Objectives

Identify the risks associated with the use of Ride-on Mowers

Select appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Identify and understand the function of all instruments and controls

Carry out daily checks as indicated in the Operator's Manual

Carry out pre-start checks
-
Identify and report any faults
-
Adjust the cutting mechanism to achieve the required standard

Operate the machine in a safe and competent manner
-
Perform after-use maintenance
-
Understand legal and practical requirements for travelling on a public road
-
Load and transport the machines safely (if appropriate)

Trainees will need

A packed lunch

Non-snag, non-flammable clothing appropriate to the weather conditions (you should not wear fleece type material)
