Chainsaw Training Courses:
Full Range Overview

Description

Our comprehensive chainsaw courses, accredited by LANTRA, provide certification for working with chainsaw equipment in a professional capacity.  Select the course you need from our wide range below:

Chainsaw Training Courses – Which One Do You Need?

The HSE mandates that anyone who uses a chainsaw in the workplace must have proof of adequate training from a qualified person, to operate the machine safely, in appropriate conditions.  Your chainsaw training must also be periodically updated.  This legislation applies to everyone, volunteers, employed or self-employed, too.

Our Chainsaw courses below are HSE approved and LANTRA accredited, leading to a LANTRA Awards Certificate in Basic Chainsaw Training.

NPTC CS30, CS31 and CS32 chainsaw certification can be arranged for an additional fee.

Chainsaw Maintenance and Crosscutting Course

This course is perfect for anyone who is new to chainsaw use at work and requires the training to work safely with a chainsaw in non-felling activities.  This might be using a chainsaw to cut timber on the ground for logs, firewood or clearing brash.  This LANTRA approved qualification is widely recognised across land-based organisations.

Chainsaw Felling and Processing Up To 380mm

This course is for anyone using a chainsaw to fell and process trees with a trunk diameter up to 380mm.  This practical training covers the core competencies required for felling a tree, including planning, safety assessments and directional felling.  This is well suited for forestry workers, farmers and anyone managing woodland.

Chainsaw Felling and Processing Over 380mm

If you are felling trees with a trunk diameter over 380mm then this course is perfect for you or your team.  Felling large trees requires a greater level of competency and technical skill, and this training session provides the skills and assessments required to be certified in chainsaw felling thicker trunks.

Chainsaw Maintenance, Fell and Cross-cut

Chainsaw training can be combined to include maintenance, cross cutting and felling of trees up to a trunk diameter of 380mm.  We can provide this training at locations across Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Cornwall and Wales.  This is an integrated training and assessment course leading to a LANTRA Awards Certificate in Basic Chainsaw Training.

The Legal Bit

The law states that anyone who uses a chainsaw in the workplace must have proof of adequate training from a qualified person, to operate the machine safely, in appropriate conditions.  Your chainsaw training must also be periodically updated.  This legislation applies to everyone – volunteers, employed or self-employed alike.
