Who is chainsaw maintenance and crosscutting for?

Anyone intending to use chainsaws for business, domestic or leisure activities.  For those working in forestry or arboriculture services, it may be necessary to complete the NPTC CS30 chainsaw assessment (which can be arranged for an additional fee; contact us here  for more info).  This CS30 chainsaw course involved Integrated Training and Assessment (ITA).

The Legal Bit

The law states that anyone who uses a chainsaw in the workplace must have proof of adequate training from a qualified person to operate the machine safely, in appropriate conditions.  Your chainsaw training must also be periodically updated.  This legislation applies to everyone – volunteers, employed or self-employed alike.

About the Hush Farms Chainsaw and Maintenance Course

Hush Farms' chainsaw maintenance and crosscutting course meets HSE requirements for workplace chainsaw use and is designed for any level of experience.  We can also provide chainsaw refresher courses if required.  Assessment is built into the training rather than a separate examination.

Chainsaws are exceptionally versatile tools, but they’re also potentially very dangerous.  Serious accidents can and do happen, so even if you’re using them for leisure, it’s important to have proper chainsaw training and to keep your skills up to scratch.

We do our best to be flexible, and our training is tailored to your needs.  You’re welcome to come and complete your chainsaw training courses at one of our sites in East Devon, or Mid-Wales, or we'll come to a venue near you in the South West and throughout the UK.  Plus, we’ll fit the course around your schedule. Just let us know your most convenient times.
